Add a touch of vintage California charm to your home decor with this Mid Century Modern Vintage 1940s California Pottery Planter featuring a man with cart design. Fill it with your favorite small flowers & succulents for a perfect accent piece to any room. The man is separate from the cart - the cart is the planter & the man looks like he would be holding up flowers- & that is the vase part. Although it doesn't have a mark on the bottom, it is the classic vintage California Pottery look & feel. The man is 5.5" tall & the cart is 4" tall x 3.25" wide & is in really good condition. There is a manufacturing flaw on the hat (see photo 10) where a little bit of brown glaze got on his hat as well as an itty bitty flea bite. On the wheel, there is a nick underneath but I do not know if it happened during manufacturing or after as it feels a little smooth to be aftermarket. It cannot be seen when the cart is right side up & is show in photo 9. There is the usual clear crazing - very typical for this type of pottery but no dark crazing. It is a terrific example of the pottery that came out of California in the 1940's. I have to admit, it is one of my favorite pieces! This is a very nice vintage California Pottery Planter & Vase!
