This is a vintage & empty 3.5 ounce white milk glass jar with metal lid of Watkins Compound Mustard Ointment made in the 1940's. The jar has minor wear on the paper label but overall it is in good condition for its age. It previously belonged to my father, who sold Watkins products in the sixties, seventies & eighties & loved to collect their old tins, bottles & books. The jar would make a great addition to any collectors of J.R. Watkins. The J.R. Watkins Company was founded in 1868 & today continues to sell household products (home & health remedies as well as baking products). Many people still remember the Watkins man who came door to door in a horse-drawn wagon traveling around the countryside many decades ago.
