Description
An early, 1900-1910, Edwardian Era, Sheffield England silver plated wine bottle coaster. Made by Israel Freeman & Son. Sterling Silver over Copper. in fair to good condition. Evident heavy aging of metal throughout entire metal body, & particularly silver-plated center. Scuff marks/wearing of wood base top, & bottom side. Green velvet shows wear & white-like hues along its edges. Velvet securely attached to bottom wood plate-base, no loose movements. Bottom plate-base does not meet with coaster edges at bottom in almost ½ portion of circle. Subtle manipulation, bending of metal (can almost go unnoticed, unless studied with discipline. / If seam is placed to your right-hand side, & you place the coaster in front of you at an arm's-length distance...you will notice a subtle "in-use" acquired bending inward at about two o'clock). Item looks, feels, & smells clean. No adverse odors on textile. Measure: 4 ½ " in Diameter I am pleased to promptly answer any questions you may have about this piece.
