Description
This antique canister originally held tobacco. It is marked Factory No. 256 & District of NC on the bottom. The edge of the jar has a rope pattered edge. The glass of the jar has lines & bubbles from the manufacturing process. The inside & outside top edges are rough & I believe that this is original as well. The lid is not the original lid. It is smaller & slides around if moved but does not fall in. See last photo. This is how I purchased the jar & I did not know the lid was not original, as it was taped on. It is still a pretty lid with a textured knob. The lid has a tiny chip on the underside ring, but the top & outside edges are nice. The canister measures 5 1/2 inches tall not including the lid & is 5 inches in diameter. A great little piece of history! Thanks for looking & happy shopping.
