Description

Nice portrait of a pair of Creve Coeur Chickens. The top left corner suggests this may have been a book plate in Cassell's Poultry Book, & the bottom right corner suggests this is a lithograph made by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, who were English lithographers producing in the mid to late 1800s. The print under the piece says these splendid chickens were prize winners at the summer show at Wolverhampton, Birmingham, England in 1872, so this lithograph was probably made within a few years of that date. Nice detail on the rooster feathers, & the eyes & expression are a little insouciant, as if the chickens have an attitude. Probably did. The work is under glass, of course, & well framed. The frame measures about 13 3/4" by 11 5/8" by 3/4" thick. It is in good condition with just a few minor dings to the perimeter edges of the frame. FREE shipping within the United States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever the other items can't hurt the glass. For shipment elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.
