Beautiful ballerina figurine by dance artist & sculptor Brenda Naylor features a young ballet student in the fifth position, artistically & lovingly rendered in fine bisque white porcelain. Titled & marked "Fifth Position" 1982, it is a beautiful tribute to The Royal Ballet of England & all ballet students in the world. If you are a ballet student, professional dancer or dance lover you will cherish this lovely piece to decorate your home or studio. Approximate measurements: Height: 7 5/8 inches Base width: 3 inches Brenda Naylor (1926-2016) originally trained in drawing at St Martins School of Art in England. in the 1980s she obtained permission to sketch & photograph dancers of the Royal Ballet Company. The sculptures were cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax process, & most unusually, Brenda did practically all the finishing & chasing herself at the foundry. (From Brenda Naylor.co.uk.)
