San Joaquin Valley Almond Grove The original painting was a gift to one of my best friends, who grew up on this almond & walnut farm in the San Joaquin Valley that her great-grandfather, grandfather & father farmed. Her grandfather took this photo. I normally like to use my own photos for my work, but knowing this one was taken by the man who tended these trees added a layer of meaning to the process. It was an honor to create a memory of this place for her & her family.
