The finest feathers available are selected for these quills. They vary in size & shape, but are usually around 25-30 cm long. The ballpoint pen is not refillable. Writing equipment is essential for study at a magical college, & feather quills are the natural choice for most sorcerers, who eschew many Mundane writing implements. However, dib nibs & ink can be mightily impractical for the magic student on the go, so these quills are fitted with a ballpoint tip that is always ready to write.
