The Lone Cypress is a Monterey cypress tree in Pebble Beach, California. Standing on a granite hillside off the 17-Mile Drive, the tree is a Western icon, & has been called one of the most photographed trees in North America. The Monterey cypress grows naturally only in Pebble Beach & Point Lobos. This photo was taken close to sunset January 2022, following major fires as well as the recent 2019 loss of a large limb caused by severe wind.
