Founded in 1948 in Long Island, New York, Alva Studios existed until the 90s. Its founder, Alfred Wolkenberg (born in Vienna in 1911) immigrated to the United States in 1939. He had many artists & designers, whom he ordered to produce reproductions of ancient jewelry & sculptures stored in various museums around the world. Ancient musician vintage brooch, 1970s & is made of made of matte gold tone metal in the form of an Aztec playing a Kena - an ancient wind instrument. This brooch is marked reproduction on the back. Brooch measures 2 1/4 inches long & 1 1/4 inches wide.
