This egg has a circus theme. From the Halcyon Days website: This 1988 Easter Egg has a charming circus theme complete with a troupe of elephants, circus clowns & a ring master. History: The English craft of enameling over copper was extraordinarily popular during the 18th century. However, by 1840, the economic hardships from the Napoleonic Wars coupled with the escalation of the Industrial Revolution caused the art form to disappear.
