REDUCED on 6/25/22) from $89.99 to $79.99. Here we have a pairing of 2 vintage (exact age unknown), red, floral, glass paperweights handblown in china & marked as such on the bottom. We don't normally think of China as glass blowers, but early on they saw how popular this glass art was & began competing with the Venetians with exceptional results. Often sellers will take off the "Made in China" tag & pass them off as Italian. These beauties both feature red flowers crafted with 2 different, glass-blowing techniques. Both display a main-flower bursting up from the center. The larger weight has a beautiful, controlled-bubble in the middle of its ever-so-thin petals. The controlled-bubble in the large one almost looks like mercury glass & the petals almost look like paper. The smaller paperweight has thick, branch-like petals with a delicate stamen/pistol in the middle. The larger weight measures about 2.75 inches in height & the smaller weight measures about 2.25 inches in height. Both have a ground & polished underside with original, paper labels.
