This fabric is 36 inches wide & is sold by the yard. Multiple yards will come as one continuous piece. This fabric weights approximately 6.5 ounces per yard. It is 100% cotton & was hand woven on a treadle loom in the highlands of Guatemala. The colors are actually deeper blue than shown in the picture. This is a gorgeous, richly woven fabric. I would be easy to see this uses a pillow covers or a purse. It would make a great baby wrap or even a summer skirt. Guatemalan weaving is an art that is handed down through the generations. The patterns vary throughout the communities telling a story or representing the culture of the area. The weaving sustains the family. It provides them with clothing & a way to make a living.
