Billy Crystal (born 1948), who was doing stand-up comedy at age 16, made his TV debut on Soap in 1977. After successful guest appearances on Saturday Night Live, his film career took off. Among Crystal's hits, mostly comedies, are The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally (1989), City Slickers (1991) & Analyze This (1999). A longtime baseball fan, Crystal produced 61, a drama on Roger Maris' pursuit of Babe Ruth's home run record, for HBO in 2001.
