This beautiful regal music box was handmade by Hazel DeVorss in 1990. It features an oval red velvet base topped by a spinning carved egg. I believe it is a real eggshell, it has the right look & feel of a real shell. The eggshell has been carved & adorned with red & gold embellishments. Twist the stem to start the music box playing. The egg spins & it plays a few bars of "Somewhere My Love (Lara's Theme)", from the film Doctor Zhivago. This is fabulous for Valentine's Day, Easter, Christmas, a wedding, an anniversary - really any special occasion to display such a beautiful work of art! Imagine presenting an engagement ring in this! WOW! Measures about 7-3/4" tall x 3" wide. It has the artist's name hand printed on the bottom "Created by Hazel DeVorss 1990" Please Note: All of the items that I sell in my shop are vintage items. By Etsy's standards, items that are at least 20 years old are considered vintage. I source items from local estate sales, thrift shops & garage sales. I am not an expert on the history of any items I source, so I do online research to try to learn more about their history. If my research leads me to believe that the item is from the early 2000's or earlier, I list it & classify it as vintage. Vintage items are all pre-owned. As such, they have varying signs of use. However, buyers should anticipate all items showing signs of former use, which may include but is not limited to stains, tears, scuffs, chips, missing embellishments, prior repairs & general wear & tear.
