This terrifying advertisement is was one of many famous lunched by Benetton in the 1990s. The poster displays a Liberian soldier with a Kalashnikov rifle, holding what appears to be a human bone. An image like this gives associations colonialism, racism & poverty. The Benetton advertisements in 1990s were arguably provoking & controversial during that time as the pictures often reflected issues such as racism, human rights & pollution. Some advertisements even had pictures of people dying of AIDS & people from the "Death Row".
