This detailed die-cast medal is made in the region of Italy that produces the finest quality medals in the world. Brendan of Clonfert (c. AD 484 - c. 577) also referred to as "the Navigator", "the Voyager", "the Anchorite", & "the Bold". He is one of the early Irish monastic saints & one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland. He is primarily renowned for his legendary quest to the "Isle of the Blessed", also denominated "Saint Brendan's Island". Saint Brendan's feast day is celebrated on May 16th by Catholics, Anglicans, & Orthodox Christians. Patronage: boatmen, divers, mariners, sailors, travelers, elderly adventurers, whales, portaging canoes; the Diocese of Clonfert & the Diocese of Kerry; invoked against ulcers.
