This here is a wonderful Vintage Lane & Co. Van Nuys Blue Birds Porcelain Planter. The first thing I need to say is that there are a few flaws, in the form of a few small flea dings & a very small thin line, thus this planter is being sold AS IS. That said, this is still a very nice planter, & a very nice piece of Van Nuys pottery, that has a lot to offer. Depicted are two lovely blue birds with black tipped wings & tails perched among flowers & tall grass. Behind the birds is the planter section. Measuring appr 10 1/4" height, 10" width & appr 5" depth, this planter, aside from the afore mentioned flaws, is in good used vintage condition. The flaws mentioned consist of a few, I think three, tiny chips or flea dings at some of the tips, a very small surface chip on the back, just above the makers mark, & a small hairline to the inner back rim of the planter opening. I've shown examples of these in close up photos. Otherwise there is some minor surface wear with some crazing lines in places, also as can be seen in photos. Please examine photos closely to properly determine condition. Lane & Co. 1959 Van Nuys Calif. U.S.A. P74 is marked on the back, again, as shown in photos. Overall, like said before, there there are a few minor flaws, still a very nice vintage planter & piece of vintage California pottery that would look great in just about any setting.
