This is such a beautifully illustrated plate - from a series "Fairy Tale Calendar Plate Collection" - this plate is "November - Rip Van Winkle", illustrated by Alan Baker. It is a limited edition plate from 1983 by Royal Cornwall Ltd. The plate features a gorgeous illustration of Rip Van Winkle, as he wakes up, at the base of a large tree. He is wearing a blue jacket & hat, & has a long gray beard. Cobwebs attach him to his surroundings. The border of the plate has delicate ferns with little fairies tucked in around the leaves. The plate has a gold rim.
