This is a gorgeous antique woven tapestry border panel from France. I am dating it to the mid to late 1800's. The colors are terrific & it has a delightful medieval design. With a nice & tight weave. I believe this is a cotton blend. Originally used as a border for a large tapestry most likely. Such a beautiful textile that you can use as a valance for over your window/doorway or center on some fabulous lumbar pillows. Simply scrumptious The colors are: gold; cinnamon, violet, lavender & eggplant/black. With a black cotton trim along a horizontal edge & a handstitched green cotton liner on back. Excellent condition for age & past use with slight fading (mostly on ends). There are no stains, marks, holes, tears, odors or animal hair. There are some pulls & moth nibbles on the edges & throughout here & there. These are negligible & expected. Please see closeups for reference. One panel (the shortest one) has more significant fading on the ends & near the center, & also some more pulls than the other two & is priced accordingly.
