Made out of 26 ga. USA Solid Copper. Heirloom quality made to hand down to the next generation! Also suitable for protected outdoor area, such as a covered patio or gazebo. My handcrafted clocks all begin life as a flat sheet of metal - usually copper or tinplate. The metal blank is punched with a pattern of my original design using tools, that I fabricate from hardened steel, struck with a hammer. I take pride in the fact that I am occasionally asked if I use a machine to punch the patterns, because of the consistency & regularity of the punching. The punched & formed clock face is thoroughly cleaned, has a light patina applied & is carefully hand finished to produce highlights & depth. Your clock will look similar to, but not exactly like, the photos, because the uncontrolled patina process produces a range of colors. Before assembling the movement to the face, it is given a coat of wax to stabilize the finish. My maker's mark "W" is hand stamped with pride on each clock.
