Description
This is a beautiful 1971 porcelain Mother's Day Rose 8.5" plate by Susan Williams-Ellis from Portmeirion. It is made of porcelain & has a bright white high gloss finish. It is round with an embossed rim that is decorated with panels containing a bird motif set against a bright pink background. The center of the plate is decorated with a beautiful transfer pattern by Susuan Williams-Ellis depicting beautiful pink Rose blossoms nestled amongst green foliage accented with bright blue blossoms. The flowers are taken from a very fine hand painted plate of around 1815 the little birds from a sprig mold of about 20 years earlier both of these, like the present plate were made in Staffordshire England. Measures 8.5" in excellent condition. A great addition to any fine porcelain art or vintage plate collection. Wonderful gift for a mom for Mother's Day or any special occasion.
