Description

FOR YOU "YOUNGSTERS" over 60 or so, what a thrill it was to see that Magnavox TV special featuring Francis Albert Sinatra come back out of his brief retirement with his "Ol' Blue Eyes is Back." It was mid-70's & I had been a country music DJ, a rock jock & rock radio manager, but still had Sinatra, Dean Martin, Andy Williams & the pop & jazz greats running through my veins. There was plenty of room for all of them. My dad, Ken Kittinger was a percussionist & played with Satchmo, Artie Shaw, Lionel Hampton (see last photo of him giving Lionel his last award before Lionel passed). With hundreds of country & rock awards under his belt, his Sinatra & Bennet & other pop star gold & platinum awards were his favorites to make. Ol' Blue Eyes is Back was Frank's "come back" album & though it only attained "GOLD" status - never to Platinum, it heralded the fact that he was far from finished. Only about 50 of these were made & given to Reprise (Division of Warner Brothers). He held some back in his workshop inventory & a few were found in his estate when he passed. "RARE" is an understatement. Never taken out of the box. 19" X 15" X 2" (shadow box). High lifted 3/D graphics. On gorgeous blue satin background. Dark oak wood frame. Packed meticulously in custom-made box with lots of Styrofoam & bubble wrap for safe delivery. Guaranteed of course. COA pictured. Pop (Mr. Kittinger) & Andy Williams at the gold record presentation ceremony in Palm Springs in 1976. Send name of recipient to be printed on Mr. Kittinger's "Estate COA" Frank Sinatra Gold Record Award "Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back." 19" X 15" 2" Shadow
