This is a beautiful Mid Century hand carved African Shona stone sculpture. Purchased from the estate of a mid century art collector who looked to have traveled extensively. There looks like there was once a label on the back that was removed or wore off. I was able to make out what looked like a date in the residue that remained that ended in 68. It does look to have age to it & would be inline with other items she owned. It does stand on it's own but needs a good level place to stand on. Extra tall, it is has a stunning shape & form. in very good vintage condition with some definite signs of wear & age. Most notably some marks as mentioned from a label & also on the front.
