Takashi Murakami Born in Tokyo Japan in 1962 is a famous Japanese contemporary pop artist. He works in fine arts media including paintings, sculptures, as well as commercials such as fashion, merchandise, & animations. Takashi is well known for blurring his arts in between fine arts & commercial arts. He coined the term "super flat" which describes both the aesthetic & characteristics of the Japanese artistic tradition. Takashi Murakami creates paintings, sculptures, & films populated by repeated motifs & mutating characters of his own creation. His wide-ranging work embodies an intersection of pop culture, history, & fine arts.
