Description

PLEASE READ This fits the brand new 40v GPS01Z. Makita has recently changed the size of the arbor hole on their 40v. The holes are identical but of different sizes. If you have a saw produced after 12/2021 you will need v2 of my cap. Please look for your manufacturing date. It can be found on the battery mount on the saw. See the picture in the listing if you need help finding it. IF YOU ORDER WITHOUT VERFYING, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANOTHER SHIPPING CHARGE) Almost all track saw manufacturers have made an inadvertent mistake. They've left a hole in the side of the blade enclosure that diminishes the maximum dust extraction capabilities. You spent a lot of money on your track saw, & you should NOT have to resort to putting ducktape on the side of your saw just to get great dust extraction! My 3D-printed cap snaps firmly into the arbor hole on your track saw & is easily removed for the times that you need to access the arbor bolt for a blade change. The matching brand color makes it look like it came from the factory & no one will ever know it's a 3rd party accessory. With your track saw hooked up to a dust extractor, paired with my cap, you can stop breathing in hazardous 0.3 micron sawdust that is escaping your track saw & work with confidence in your health. I ship the next business day (sometimes the same day if you order before noon) & guarantee a PERFECT fit. A note on fitment: the cap is made to fit very tight at first. It may be difficult to snap in at first, but over time it will loosen up as the tabs wear slightly. If it's too tight, you can take sandpaper or a file & gently sand down the tabs until you get a friction fit. If for whatever reason it's not fitting properly, I am happy to send you an adjusted cap that will. Important instructions: Because the shape & angle of the arbor hole are so complex, the fit can be finicky. I found the best way to install the cover is to register the top tabs first, & then seat the bottom tabs. Removal is done in the reverse order. Pull up on the bottom tabs first. If you must use a tool or screwdriver, be very careful not to scratch the paint on the saw or place undue pressure on the plastic walls of the cover. If the fit is too tight (I'm not sure how tight & consistent Makita's machining tolerances are), you can easily dial in the fit by taking some sand paper or a file to the tabs. Just go slow. Do you have a different Makita track saw? The arbor shape & size are different depending on the type of Makita saw you have.
