This is a fabulous/funky/kitsch, vintage 1950s set of one-piece, shell-encrusted, Florida, souvenir, salt & pepper shakers. It is marked on the bottom made in Hong Kong & measures 1.25 inches in depth by 3 inches wide by 2.75 in height to the top of the buttons. It is made of green & clear plastic with a mechanical, spring-loaded, salt/pepper, release action. They feature a palm tree & the word Florida on the green front & tiny, encrusted seashells on the clear-plastic front of the 2 sides. Cool. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to get the salt & pepper inside the shakers? The only possibility would be to push the release button down at the top which opens the plug at the bottom giving a small opening to put in the salt & pepper. Not that easy, but a conversation piece in any event. Or if you are a collector, this would be a unique, mid-century, shaker set to add. These 1950s, shell-encrusted, Florida souvenirs were made in all kinds of styles & configurations, but this is the first time I have seem one like this. It is in good condition with no flaws that I can see other than normal vintage wear. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is NOT returnable.
