A once in a lifetime set, this WWII era suit by the renown Hollywood designer "Gilbert Adrian" will have you decked out just like Joan Crawford! This appropriately royal purple suit is a soft wool with a diagonal ribbed weave & accents of inlaid abstract color blocking on the jacket in violet & emerald. The jacket is fully lined with rayon crepe & features a collar-less neckline with architectural notching, strongly padded shoulders, & beautiful seaming down to the petite diagonal pockets on the front & creating a V panel on the back. Hooks & eye offer sleek fastening. The pencil skirt has a wide blocked waist band with a burnt sienna panel (perhaps due to war shortages - we're positive it's original to the garment) & a V for victory metal "Talon" zipper on the side. This suit is in great vintage condition, with a couple tiny well done period mends but no holes, stains, nor odors to note.
