Paul Gustave Doré 1832 - 1883 was a French artist, engraver, illustrator & sculptor. Doré worked primarily with wood engraving & steel engraving. This original 9" x 13" reprint from Italy is from 1939. It's printed on quality paper & is in lovely condition. It's tanned just a tiny bit to a light ecru color (think vanilla ice cream) & it's blank on the reverse side. 'The Apocalyptic Procession' would be simply fabulous matted in a bright color & framed in either black or gold. Matted, framed & displayed as a gallery grouping, these fabulous black & white prints are simply spectacular. (Please note that the framed examples in the last two photos are to show how this might look when it's matted & framed. Your print will come to you unmatted & unframed.)
