Here is the beautiful Buckingham Palace in London, built in 1703 by the Duke of Buckingham & purchased by George III. From my personal collection of amazing antique art treasures, I'm very pleased to present to you "Buckingham Palace, London, England" as it stood in the year 1890. Check out the gas lamp & cobblestone pavers in this wonderful period illustration. London was a very different world 130+ years ago. There were no automobiles, electricity was still in its infancy & photography was a relatively new & very exciting invention. For the very wealthy, there were lavish picture books for people to gaze upon... exotic & wonderful far-off places around the globe; like the book this delightful 8.5" x 11" illustrated plate came from. The print itself measures 6" x 8" & simply yells "FRAME ME!" 'Buckingham Palace' is printed on ever so perfect heavy paper with just a tiny sheen & is smooth & clean; without wrinkles or pings or marks. This oldie is a true gem.
