It can be left opened for more breeze or closed on rainy or snowy days, & to keep your little one protected from germs. 3 snaps allow for the slit to not gap at the top & the cover can be removed completely for use as a nursing cover by snapping the top & bottom snap above the right & left shoulder. The cover is attached to the car seat by 2 velcro straps that can be easily adjusted.
