Description

Ipomoea obscura v. ethiopia is a vine in the Convolvulaceae family. Its native range is from the Tropical & Subtropical Old World. It is a perfect candidate for a trellis, arbor, pergola, or fence. It will also work well in a container bringing accents to other plants in your container. It is classified as an annual, but it can re-seed itself in the same flower bed next season if seeds are left to re-seed. It can grow to around 10-15 feet, twining itself along. The leaves are heart-shaped, approximately 2-4 inches long, & 1-3 inches wide. The flowers are 1-2 inches long & about 1/4" in diameter. The dark yellow flowers have a black throat near the bottom, giving this morning glory a unique look. It prefers to grow up any structure in full sun with average water needs. Annual Germination Sow seeds 1/4" deep & lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover with plastic & keep temperatures around 65-75F. Germination is in 7-60 days. Ipomoea Obscura V.
