This stunning, artistic cajon (or box drum) is made from highly-valued spalted koa wood, detailed with turquoise, & polished with natural beeswax. Handmade on the Island of Hawaii by professional artist & musician Llosh Winne, this beautiful drum is a unique collector's item instrument, perfect for acoustic shows or as a cherished art piece or home décor item. Artist's Statement: My cajons are hand-made & custom-built to meet the needs of each drummer. Customer-driven, my drum-building is an artistic, creative, collaborative process with extreme attention to detail. I build solid instruments that are durable & dynamic, with a big sound & a high quality. My mission is to create two styles of drums: the first is affordable for any player & the second is the best sounding cajon of the highest quality. I want to focus on exotic woods, specifically Hawaiian woods. Llosh Box Drums are unique because they are three to four playable surfaces. Based on the idea of a drum kit, I strive to build the ultimate cajon that is playable on as many sides as possible to offer a variety of sounds. My mission is to focus on the deep tones of a kick drum all the way up to high tones. The benefit of a Llosh Box Drum is easier travel for musicians by alleviating the drummer's challenge of having to travel with a lot of equipment. Koa is a rare, exotic, highly valued Hawaiian hardwood, endemic to the Hawaiian islands & known as the most spectacular hardwood in the world.
