They will be slow growing in the winter months & lush growing in the spring & summer. There are different stages of a bonsais growth during its 4th year. At the beginning it is closer to 3" tall from the soil line & 6" wide where towards the end of the 4th year growth cycle it is closer to 8" from the soil line & 8" wide. It can vary with each bonsai.
