Seconds are good quality prints that have a small flaw flaws may include a small area that was inked more lightly than I intended, a smudge outside the print area that could be hidden by framing, or might just be printed closer to the edge of the paper than I intended. See photos for detailsthese particular seconds have tiny smudges outside the print area or have an under-inked area inside the image. Print seconds are all of displayable quality & are a great way to get a nice print at a bargain price. All seconds are signed & dated, just like my other prints. This original block print was printed with hand-carved linocut blocks on an etching press. This process begins by carving a linoleum block with an image, then inking the block & using the press to print the image onto the paper. This block is printed on soft, heavyweight 100% cotton printmaking paper (Stonehenge, 320 gsm) that is acid-free & archival. Linocut printing is a lovely process that allows the paper to pick up some of the stray marks (or "chatter") left intentionally on the block.
