My name is Sandy Dobbs & I am a passionate landscape photographer. This is one of my favorite ever landscape photos! I had heard about the beauty of Moraine Lake for years, but never thought I would get the opportunity to go & photograph it. Then, my husband & I made the decision to take a trip of a lifetime & go to Canada to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. I planned & planned was SO excited! It took all kinds of trouble to get to this particular spot. Is only accessible buy boat, which meant you would have to paddle a canoe for hours or pay to take the boat tour which had to be arranged well in advance. I had seen some photos of Spirit Island & it made me want to go there, but the photos just don't do it justice. The water appears anywhere from a deep green to turquoise, depending on the time of day & how the light hits it. When we were there, it was GREEN - a beautiful emerald color. I just kept snapping & could not stop until we had to leave. The trip of a lifetime became an incredible experience! The Canadian Rockies are an amazing experience.
