These solid granite sets are the perfect mix of a stone mortar & pestle & a Mexican Molcajete! We have created them in the large version & due to popular requests, a smaller version as well! Use the srop down menu to choose SMALL or LARGE. The small is 5" in diameter & holds approximately .75 cups. It is 3.5" high. The large is 6.5" diameter & holds approximately 2 cups & is 4.5" high. These versatile sets marry the functionality of a traditional mortar & pestle with the heat resistant properties of an authentic Mexican Molcajete! The outside has an aged patina coating for easy care. Either set comes with 4 oz of our pure Himalayan Salt in coarse grind. This will not only assist in curing & seasoning of the mortar (instructions included) but will also serve as your first grind project! We highly recommend that you cure the mortar prior to use, as all stone or wood sets should be. This removes any loose material & preps both surfaces for use. Use the included salt & follow the simple directions. We will include both mortar & pestle recipes as well as some of our molcajete recipes with the larger set as the ample mortar is perfect for guacamole & salsa as well as grinding, mashing & muddling herbs & spices!
