Description

This is a vintage painting signed Bo Morrison c. 1960s or 70s this dramatic image is, I believe, a local Jazz singer married to a doctor who lived in a fabulous experimental house designed by the founder of the school of architecture at the University of Arkansas a forerunner of Fay Jones influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. The image is done on black paper with non-glare glass & is a kind of reverse painting with bright washes of paint show up in stark contrast to the matte black paper. The frame is painted wood, black with gold trim & it is chipping. I had to unframed it to clean it up a bit so there's no backing paper I can't find anything about the artist. They travelled a lot, so it could be anyone, anywhere, but a local artist seems likely. The image is about 26 x 16 inches & this is a fabulous statement piece with a glamorous story.
