This is a super cute pair of 60s vintage mod checkered shorts! They're blue & yellow checked cotton, which appears mostly green overall when viewed from a distance. They are a Bermuda shape with a high waist, a 0.75" wide waistband & two sliding tabs at the back sides that adjust with four buttons. They do not have pockets, they are shaped with front & back darts, & they close with a 7" long yellow nylon side zipper & a pearl button on your left side. They are in good clean condition overall with a 1.25" hand stitched repair on the center horizontal crotch seam, please see the close up photo of this repair. No other wear, flaws or issues noted. The label says "S.S. Kresge Co., Quality Guaranteed, 100% Cotton, Wash 'N Wear, 18, Made in Japan." The S.S. Kresge stores became K-Mart in 1972 so we know these shorts were made before '72! They are NOT a modern size 18, they fit like a Women's Small to Medium. The waist adjusts from 26 to 28 inches. The full measurements are: Waist - 26 to 28 inches, Hips - 40 inches, Rise - 13.5 inches, Inseam - 5.25 inches, Length - 18.25 inches.
