The Beartooth Mountains in Montana & Wyoming are among the largest tracts of conservation wilderness in the United States, & the visual symbol of the range is this striking peak, Beartooth Peak. The MOUNTAINS Collection, & this piece, is an exploration of brush + line, using the metaphorical form of MOUNTAIN to see how the marks of paintbrush & pen or pencil, with their contrasting textures, can work together to model the tactile surfaces of land. The Peak is centered, but distant, leaving a wide open prairie to be imagined in light green brush strokes in the foreground. The fractured forms of the mountain range are rendered in geometric continuous sepia ink line. Warm watercolor shadows cast by a springtime morning sun rest on the mountain faces. Printed by a professional archival giclee printer on Cold Press Natural 340 gsm (nice & thick) Epson Watercolor Paper. Print is signed & dated by me, on back. Choose from three sizes: 17" x 22" / 16" x 20" / 11" x 14" Frame not included. Prints ship flat, packaged in clear sealed cello sleeve with backboard. USPS 2-8 days within the US.
