Vintage Rococo Sterling Silver Brooch by Howard M. Tefft. Made in the 1970s or 1980s, this cast sterling silver brooch & pendant has an openwork shield shape, with elements including a trio of plumes with tulips in the center of the piece, framed by scrolls, scallop flourishes, flower accents, & crowned by a putti or cherub head. The piece is either a reproduction of an antique piece, or an ornate fantasy piece. The piece is finished with a pin stem with rollover safety clasp & an attached round bale so it can be worn as a necklace pendant. ERA: Retro, 1980s METAL/MATERIALS: Sterling Silver HALLMARKS/HISTORY: HMT for H. M. Tefft, Sterling. I can find little information on Tefft, but this trademark was registered from 1963-1987.
