As you can see, our tiles are flat & unglazed on the back, making them perfect for a mosaic project. Inspiration The inspiration photo is of a ceramic plaque I made using 3 of these little turtles. Put these cuties in any pond or garden art for a whimsical touch! Our process The art tiles created at BarbsCottage begin with ceramic clay that Barb, Kelley & Megan push into one of our silicone or plaster molds. After drying for a few days they are fired for about 24 hours. The tiles are then painted with 3 coats of glaze & fired for another 24 hours. Because BarbsCottage tiles are fired twice in our kiln, they are weather-proof. Packaging & Shipping Ceramic tiles from Barb's Cottage are treasures, so we do our best to protect them while on the way to you. We wrap our tiles snugly in bubble wrap & secure them with packing peanuts in sturdy boxes.
