Vintage Indonesian Wooden Temple Offering Box. These offering boxes are used to hold food stuffs, flowers & other items destined for the Gods. This handmade wooden oval shaped box with a carved domed heavy wooden lid, has small carved wooden feet. The box is painted mid brown with a floral design in varying shades of green, yellow, blue, red & white on the lid with swirls, stripes & waves in shades of blues & red around the sides. This box is made from tropical woods bent into shape with some oval thin boards which make up the flat base, a carved wooden lid/top & four small cut or carved legs or feet. This box is in lovely vintage condition just showing normal wear & tear for its age, it does have some scuffs on the sides (see photograph). It was made sometime last century & measures about 12"x 8"inches in length & width with the domed lid it measures about 8"inches tall including the carved feet, the inside of the box has also been painted a similar color to the outside.
