Description

High quality art print from my original drawing. Hand aged prints look like authentic old documents. Approximately 11" x 14"; 16" x 20"; 23" x 30". Contact me for larger sizes. I look at old maps, usually 3-4 from a time period (if they even exist), & then I create my own as if I were the cartographer of record during that period. I try to make my work look good from across the room as well as up close. Each print is hand aged by soaking in staining solutions, crumpling, ironing back out, tearing edges, touching up damage, signing, & shrink wrapping on black foam board. This is a Mississippi barrier island, which was named by French explorers in 1699. Horn Island was frequented by nature artist Walter Anderson who would paddle his canoe out to the island. The island has a rich history in the development of the Gulf Coast. The original drawing was done with archival pens, watercolor paints with salt on it for texture & coffee. Small prints ship flat on foamboard & larger prints will ship in a tube. International orders will ship in a tube.
