1860s Belgian Master Charles Houry (1828-1898) ink drawing on paper. Woman holding a bunch of flowers. Good general condition; just normal signs of the old age. Artist: Charles Houry (1828-1898). Charles Houry ( Charles Borromee A. Houry) was born in Soignies ( Belgium) in 1828 & died in Paris in 1898. He studied with Leon Cogniet at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Paris. He became painter of portraits, scenes of life & sometimes orientalism. Since 1850 he started exhibiting his paintings at the Salon de Paris. Houry worked at the Manifacture de Sèvres where he painted on porcelain. Date: 1860s Size 10 1/2" x 4" (approximately).
