This large, Waltham 'Sidewinder' pocket watch, is housed in one of my favorite case types. Having no removeable back, the 'Swing-out' style was one of the first designs to be more resistant to dust & moisture. This example is made in polished Nickel by the Crescent Case Company. Nickel was a relatively new material in the late 1800's. As shiny as silver, but much harder & more resistant to scratching. Under an extra-thick glass crystal, the dial is bright white porcelain with Roman Numerals & a 'ring track' seconds outer dial, indicated by Fine Spade steel hands. The movement is Waltham's 7 jewel, 'Sterling' Grade, gold-flashed Movement. It's running very well. This watch is ready to wear & enjoy! It would make a fine addition to your collection or a wonderful gift. There are some scratches & wear on the case & crystal, appropriate for a 116 year-old timepiece. There is a small chip in the dial at the 5, visible only with the bezel removed. Please look at all pictures as they are most of the description. This watch is running very well, but due to its age may not keep exact time. It should be within a few seconds a day. It is being sold as-is. However, if you have a problem in the first 2 weeks after receiving your watch, send it back to me & I will have it repaired. So, buy with confidence!
