This is a pre-printed piece of NAVY BLUE cotton fabric with a design of a Monkey with a fan, cherry blossom, pine, & cloud motifs for the Year of the Monkey. It's very handy for learning sashiko stitching. The printed design measures 13.25" x 13.25" (34 cm x 34 cm) & is printed with dye that will wash out. The fabric is twice as long, so you can fold it in half for two layers, or make a pillow with the rest of the fabric as a backing. Instructions are in Japanese, but easy to follow.
