Ancient Greek prehistoric Cycladic Santorini-inspired reproduction from the original fresco excavated at Akrotiri on Thera/Santorini is now in the National Museum in Athens & dates to ca 1700BC. Cast in solid bronze with verdigris patina The original Akrotiri Boxer Fresco is a Minoan fresco depicting two young boys wearing jewelry, boxing gloves, & belts & dates back to the Bronze Age. The head of each figure is partially shaven with two long tresses at the back & two small locks of hair above the brow. This is the earliest known representation of boxing gloves. Height: 25 cm approx. Width: 18 cm approx. Weight: 1,350 kg As this item is handmade, the dimensions, surface texture, & verdigris patina may vary slightly.
