Description

Our jig makes soldering a D20 much easier by creating perfect angles. Can you use this for 3D succulents? Kind of...the shape here is an icosahedron which some people have used to make succulents. However, it's designed for D20s so you will need to make your own pattern. Would be perfect for 5 petal single layer flowers. If you're looking for multiple layered succulents, we offer a specific product in our shop for making them which creates much better angles & includes the pattern. Accommodates multiple sizes of equilateral triangles to create different sized D20s. My photos show a 2" triangle. Pattern for 2", 3" & 4" triangles included. If using the 4" you may need additional wedges to support while tacking. Link to download will be in the box. Youtube tutorial available here: https://youtu.be/20qaakjDY-A Mold, pattern & YouTube tutorial ONLY-does NOT include completed projects. Photos shown only to illustrate something you could create with the mold. Let us do the work for you by adding on perfectly machine cut glass for a precise fit. 20 equilateral triangles at 2" sides. Leave note at checkout with color preferences. Made with PLA filament. PLEASE NOTE This mold is made with plastic which WILL MELT with direct contact from your soldering iron. Only use to tack this pieces together, don't solder seams on the mold.(You'll get better lines soldering off the jig anyway where you can hold the seam level.) I have made DOZENS of these with my mold with MINIMAL burns, none of which effect the usage. Used properly this jig will last for years. Can be slightly sanded if you do make it uneven(have never had to do this personally). Please be aware of this before purchase. I will not accept refunds or exchanges on this item. Tiktok video about this available here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTds6aR3x/?k=1 If you decide to post your creation on social media we'd love a tag to share with other glass artists, not a requirement but super thankful if you do (@bluehillglassstudio). For best results: Cut & grind triangles as perfectly as possible, make sure you solder on a lower temp, use flux sparingly & take patience to prevent burning your mold. You can add an additional layer of foil on the outside once its tacked together for large seams. Build your outer seams slowly by putting a base layer down, allow to cool, then create your top layer. If you use 50/50 solder on the inner seams, & 60/40 on the outer seams, you will have less dripping.
