Signed 1940's Copper Earrings Clip on Estate Earrings Signed "Matisse " & Signed "Renoir " Rare Both Signatures Beautiful in Excellent Vintage Condition Artist Pallet Earrings Looks Almost New This signed Matisse on the underside & was made by a firm called Renoir(1946=1964). Renoir produced copper jewelry at the firm's Santa Monica, California workshop. They specialized in costume jewelry pieces with strong geometric, modernist, & abstract forms in copper & took jewelry design in a new direction by integrating enamel designs into its existing lines. The new enamel pieces were called Matisse pieces & were a big hit with celebrities - Lana Turner & Betty Davis were just some of the big name celebrities that wore Matisse pieces.
